Bonjour!!
Wow are we ever having a fabulous time! In case anyone thinks I have disappeared I thought I had better do a post and let you all know I am still here.
We are on holiday in our camper, we are now in our 6th week away (enter squealing here.... 6 weeks holiday OMG).
So if you don't want to see lots of pictures then stop reading now.....
This was the first place we stayed on our way to UK, Provins not far from Paris, it's a medieval walled town, which we could walk to from the site.

One of the camp sites we stayed on in the UK
and the lovely country pub we had Sunday lunch with my nephew and his girlfriend which all seems so long ago now.....missing you guys.
London and the Thames river, taken from camper as we went over Dartford Bridge - gosh it's high up!
Folkestone England, oh look... Sam got in this photo LOL
Imagine waking up to this view every morning, it was lovely
Really lovely lake and 3500 Ha. forest, near Le Mans plenty of room for Sam to run around
Where we had our morning walks....
.....and where we had our morning hot chocolate!!
French children having sailing lessons on the lake
and because I know you will only complain if there aren't any.... here are some pics of Sam
This is taken from outside van through the window...he wasn't happy that we were outside and he was inside...just look at that face..... ROFL.
Last but definitely not least I want to say a very big THANK YOU to our wonderful best friends who took pity on us while we were in the UK. The weather changed from being okay to being not okay....like minus 2C not okay, we were going to turn around and come straight back home, but they just wouldn't let us, they insisted we parked up the van in their secure lock up and went to stay in their house with them. We had a wonderful week, they even put David on their car insurance so we would have transport, without their help we would not still be on holiday now, we had a fabulous time and enjoyed being with them so just make sure Pam and Graham it isn't too long before we can return the favour!!!
Is that tee shirt from Hong Kong Graham!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sam...waiting for Graham to come home.....
Can you see a theme in our holiday? Looks like we like being near water!! Though there is water coming down from the sky at the moment and that is NOT the sort I like to be near, the forecast for tomorrow is sunshine so we are hoping to get to the coast for a few days before going home next week, I suppose we have to go home sometime if only to cut the grass LOL.
Speak soon.

Good Morning!!
Happy Sunday everyone! I've just looked at the weather forecast above and it says sunshine and 12c.....I sure hope so, it's cold and miserable at the moment.
I have a few finishes I can show you, one is a quilt I just took some squares from a layer cake (Oasis by 3 sisters) cut some into 5 inch squares and joined them into 4 patch, also added some other charm squares I had lying about to make a pretty scrappy quilt.

I tried a different method of quilting, I traced the patterns on to greasproof paper (parchment paper, baking paper) and then quilted through it, following the lines (not so well sometimes!) I am happy how it turned out, it isn't a quicker way of doing it.......there are a lot of bits of paper to pick out!! It is an easy way of doing it if you aren't so good at FMQ, which I am not.
I think the quilt took me around a day to piece and the quilting took me a week!

I needed a cover for the camper, the grill has a glass top covering and it has got scratched (previous owners not me!) I didn't want it to get any more scratches so a cover of some sort was needed. I used a panel I won from Sandi at Legacy of Stitches
I just cut up the panel and made this
Sorry the pictures are a bit dull, blame the weather, hopefully summer will arrive soon.
Will you stop putting that camera in my face!

Google Reader...
Not sure how I missed this but just in case other people don't know, Google Reader is finishing 1st July 2013, so if you use Google Reader now may be a good time to find something else.... like I am going to have to do.....
And because I can't do a post without a picture here is one of the newest addition to our family. Meet Noah, born at 10.00 pm last night (13.03.13) 7lb 12 oz... my new Great Nephew.

Practise or Practice, I'm never sure.....
Ha.... bet you thought I meant quilting! No... we have been away for a few days getting use to our new camper, checking everything out, we even managed to get the TV to work (after nearly a day trying to find Astra satellite!!!)
Just look at that sunshine, I had almost forgotten what it looked like. Getting organised for our big trip now, so excited can hardly wait. Sam goes to vets next week for his rabies injections, we have to wait three weeks then they will give him his own passport so he can travel with us. He hurt himself a couple of weeks ago, not sure what he did, (probably fell off the wood pile chasing a mouse) but he couldn't walk on his back legs, vets checked him out thoroughly (even checked his lymph nodes were okay to make sure the cancer hadn't returned, which was my main worry) He had inflammatory injection and tablets and is getting better every day, he still has problems jumping up the steps, but is getting there. I have told him he has to be 100% fit or they won't let him into UK......a bit of bribery can do wonders :-).
On the sewing front, I have finished two quilts and a wall hanging, but two are surprise gifts and one I want the recipient to see it first, so can't show you yet, here is a sneaky peek
I can show you a new floor cushion for Sam though... this is his new bed in the camper
I had just enough squares left from my star quilt and just used plain grey for the back, it's a really soft cushion so he loves it.
Happy days!

I'm on a roll.......
I don't know what is happening to me this month but I seem to in the mood for finishing things ;-)
Here is another that has been waiting to be quilted for ages, and I finally finished it. I can't get the colours true to life, the solid is a very creamy yellow, and this has been done for so long I have forgotten what the jelly roll was....sorry.

I used a stencil to quilt all the solid squares, a bit wobbly in places!! The colour is awful it's much nicer than it looks in the picture!
and one of Sam to finish.....
....pretending to be camera shy.......yeah right.
Have a good day!
